Collision Center

The team at your Ford dealer in NJ hopes that you'll never have to visit our body shop. Even though we're hopeful that your drives stay uneventful and safe, we know that accidents happen. Chapman Ford is ready to bring you the quality collision repair that you need at a price that you can manage. We work with the most up-to-date technology so we can handle complex vehicles and the complicated issues they may have.

One Stop Customer Service: Chapman Egg Harbor Townships Collision's skilled customer service representatives will guide you through the repair process, from vehicle dropoff and 24/7 flatbed tow truck service to rental vehicle and claims assistance.

Damage Assessment: If your vehicle was driven to our facility, one of our estimators will greet you and inspect your vehicle to determine the extent of damage. An estimate will be written, parts pre-ordered, and an appointment set for you to drop off your vehicle for repairs. If we believe that your vehicle is unsafe to drive, we will suggest that you leave it with us and arrange alternative transportation. If your vehicle was towed in, we will complete an initial damage assessment and contact you with our results.

"The Plan"/Blueprinting: A successful repair begins with a complete PLAN. In this process, we completely disassemble the damaged area to identify all damage and determine the repair plan. Further, this process ensures that the repairs will return your vehicle to a safe condition. Oftentimes, hidden damage is found, and inner structure, mechanical, and suspension repairs are determined.

Insurance Approval: If the cost of repair will be covered by an insurance company, we will contact the insurance company with the damage estimate. Estimate, supplemental repairs, and digital images are sent to the insurance company for approval. Upon receiving approvals from you and the insurance company, we will begin the process of locating and ordering the parts necessary to repair your vehicle. Parts may arrive at different times; however, when a part is received and cleared by our quality inspectors, we will begin work as soon as possible.

Structural Repair: The foundation of your vehicle is the 'frame' or structure. In the Structure Repair area, the unitized body is returned back to the factory specification. Utilizing a sophisticated laser measuring system to analyze frame symmetry, we can ensure that this critical step conforms to the manufacturer's specifications.

Body Repair: Your vehicle has been repaired and now it's time for the 'walls'. The Body Repair Department replaces exterior panels and all metal finishing that may be required. The vehicle begins to come back to life as sheet metal is installed and aligned. All collision-related repairs require some degree of cosmetic repair and often require replacement of factory panels. We test the fit of components to ensure your vehicle's parts look, fit, and align as they did when they came from the factory.

Refinishing: Paint preparation is a critical step in the refinishing process of every vehicle. All panels are prepared for paint, then primed and sealed to assure good adhesion when the final top color and clear coats of paint are applied. We will only use refinished products that meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specifications and are backed by a lifetime paint performance guarantee.

Reassembly: Once your vehicle has gone through the refinishing process, we then reattach the other parts such as mirrors, moldings, and other hardware. At this step, your vehicle will undergo an extensive pre-delivery inspection. Miscellaneous post-repair activities such as wheel repair will be performed at this time.

Detailing/Post Repair Inspection: We make every attempt to protect your vehicle from the dirt and dust associated with the repair process. However, your vehicle may accumulate dust. We are proud of our work, and we know you are proud of your vehicle. It will be cleaned, and all systems will be tested. Our final delivery inspection will assure that the vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition.

Vehicle Presentation: Presentation is the last step in the repair process. When you arrive to pick up your repaired vehicle, the bill is explained and the final paperwork is completed. We will present the vehicle and review the work that was accomplished during the repair. We are not finished until you are completely satisfied.

10 Things to Remember About Body Shops!

Your vehicle is probably your second biggest investment. Make sure you preserve the value and ensure your safety by having your vehicle professionally repaired.

Don't drive a damaged vehicle as it is unsafe.

Some insurance agencies might want you to come through their drive-in claims center before your vehicle is prepared. You can also have your insurance company inspect your vehicle when you bring it in.

There is not a law requiring you to get more than one estimate.

Your insurance company cannot make you go to a specific shop, so choose the repair shop that you want.

Differences in estimates are common. If an estimate is lower, then all the work might not be included. Feel free to ask about any discrepancies between estimates.

Pick a shop that has unibody repair equipment and certified technicians.

Make sure you're getting genuine manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts.

See if repair warranties are offered.

We can help you negotiate your insurance claim.
